JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA/RMA) in our Duke Children's Specialty Services Clinic located in Greensboro, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. 

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, data collection, education screens, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit. 
  • Completing procedural tasks including: administering medications according to protocols and provider orders, assisting with clinic-performed procedures, EKGs, place Holter monitors), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Documentation in electronic health record. Performing administrative tasks as mentioned above.

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
  • BLS required
